We've made very clear here that we think Apple's latest MacBook Pro, complete with touch bar, was a good move. Not only that, but the touch bar was a brilliant solution to combat the wave of crappy touchscreen computers we've seen so many of recently. And now we'll talk about what makes those touchscreen computers so crappy (aside from the software, hardware, design, and pretty much everything else about them). Put simply, touchscreen computers are out of touch. Apple made them look stupid. Because, as Mark at T-Gaap put it in a recent conversation I had with him, "now that Apple has released the Touch Bar, why use a touchscreen computer ever again?". I agree with this statement wholeheartedly, and we at AppleBlend have many reasons as to why the touchscreen computer has become a dinosaur with the release of the Touch Bar.
First off, who wants to touch their laptop screen? With the exception of niche uses, touching a computer screen is uncomfortable for most. Secondly, the smudge marks. I have used a touchscreen computer before, and they get bad. Very bad. No functionality plus lots of smudge marks? It equals a bad computer, no matter what the internals are.
We already knew touchscreen computers were bad, but the release of the Touch Bar just made all touchscreen computers obsolete. Any thoughts? Leave them in the comments below. Thanks!
